16,242 Fans Attended First World Series Game

The first World Series was played in 1903 between the Boston Americans (predecessors to the Boston Red Sox) and the Pittsburgh Nationals (predecessors to the Pittsburgh Pirates).  It was played at the Huntington Avenue Grounds in Beantown in front of 16,242 fans.  Boston won the nine-game series five games to three.  Cy Young was one of the Boston pitchers.
