In 1993, Carmelo Martinez of the Cleveland Indians hit what had to be the funniest homerun in the history of baseball. The ball bounced off the head of Texas Rangers outfielder Jose Canseco and went over the fence. I actually saw the same thing happen when I was playing little league baseball in 1957. I was playing third base, and the batter lifted a fly ball to left. Our left fielder had a beat on the ball, put his glove up, but the ball bounced off the top of his head and over the fence for what turned out to be the winning run.
