Albany State Will Not Move Forward Without Black & Iati

When Albany State lost their last basketball game against Stony Brook on  Sunday, January 27,  it was their third consecutive defeat.  Mike Black, their leading scorer was held scoreless and went 0-7 from the field.  This dismal performance came on top of 9-50 from the field in his previous games.  Jacob Iati, second in scoring, has sore toes and an injured achilles tendon. The two players have been the catalysts in a number of games that the Great Danes have won this season.   Now there is talk that coach Will Brown will be making some lineup changes.  If both Black and Iati are relegated to substitute roles, the chances for the Danes to move forward are not  very good at all. Black has got to continue shooting his way through this prolonged slump, and hopefully Iati will be healed soon.  With a revamped lineup, yes, Albany  will probably fair pretty well against the cupcakes, but will have a great deal of difficulty beating the quality teams.  Therefore, their chances of moving forward are very slim at best.
