With high scorer and last year’s Big-Ten Player of the Year Emia Willingham-Hurst riding the pine with an ankle injury, the Albany High girls’ basketball team still managed to beat Troy 65-47 on January 8. Cara Waterson and Mylah Chandler stepped up and scored 43 points between them. Waterson tallied 23 points with 15 of them coming from three-point range. She hit on better than 50% of her shots from out deep. Chandler bucketed 20 points, and also contributed 7 assists and 7 steals in a fine all-around effort. The Falcons are bow 11-1 overall and 6-0 in league play.
