Anita Kaplan was a basketball star at Bethlehem Central High School in the late 1980s, where she racked up some incredible point productions and other statistics. Kaplan averaged 30 points, 20 rebounds, 6 blocked shots,and 4 steals per game her senior year and scored 80% of her team’s points. Kaplan’s biggest single-game point production was 56 against Scotia. Her finest all-around effort , however, came against Catholic Central, when she tallied 38 points, pulled down 25 rebounds, and rejected 3 shots. Kaplan was named the Naismith New York state Player of the Year, and Parade Magazine named her to their All-American first team.
