Bill Telasky of CBA was Among the Best

Bill Telasky was both an outstanding college basketball player and high school coach.  He played his college ball for George Washington University and was named to the All-Conference team in 1959.  West Virginia great, Jerry West, was also named to the All-Conference team that year.  Telasky was a superb floor general and an aggressive defensive player.  Philadelphia picked him up in the fifth round of the NBA draft.  Telasky coached at Christian Brothers Academy of Albany, where his teams were always competitive against all opponents.  He ranked among the best coaches in the Capital Region.  A defensive coaching genius, Telasky drove opposing coaches crazy trying to solve his box-and-one and triangle-and-two defenses.
