Bob Hayes, Don Schollander & the 1964 Olympic Games

Bob Hayes – The lightning-fast Bob Hayes won the 100-meter dash in the Olympic finals in Tokyo, Japan in 1964.  Turning on the after burners, Hayes won the race by an amazing seven feet, pulling away in the final forty meters.  Hayes later became a three-time All-Pro pass receiver for the Dallas Cowboys.

Don Schollander – He became the first swimmer to win 4 Olympic gold medals.  Schollander won the 100-meter freestyle and the 400-meter freestyle.  He also had team wins in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 meter relays.  He was 18 years-old at the time.
