Buckpasser Wins Arlington Classic

The great Buckpasser, with an injury to his hoof, did not run in the Triple Crown races in 1965.  He came charging back, however, with Braulio Baeza in the irons, to win the Arlington Classic and break the world mile record by three-fifths of a second with a time of 1:32 3/5.  Among the fine horses he defeated in that race was Kauai King, winner of both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness.
