1961 – The Cincinnati Bearcats snapped the Ohio State Buckeyes’ 32-game winning streak with a 70-65 win in the NCAA championship basketball game. The Bearcats were led by 6’9″ center Paul Hogue, Tony Yates and Tom Thacker. Their coach was Ed Jucker. Ohio State floored a loaded team. They were led by Player of the Year center Jerry Lucas, John Havlicek, Larry Sigfried, and future Indiana coach, Bobby Knight. Cincinnati also won the NCAA title in 1962.
