Many years ago, Cliff Levingston of the Atlanta Hawks fouled into a game. Sound a bit bizarre? The Hawks were playing without Dominique Wilkens and Antoine Carr, who were both sidelined with injuries. Scott Hastings, Spudd Webb, Kevin Willis, and Levingston fouled out, and Doc Rivers was ejected. This left Atlanta with four players. But under a vague rule, Levingston, the last player to foul out, was allowed to re-enter the game, and the Hawks were tagged with a technical foul. Therefore, he fouled into the game.
