I saw him play one game, and from what I have read and heard about Schalmont’s Devon Willis, he just might have been Schenectady County’s best high school football player of 2012. He was a quick and punishing runner for coach Joe Whipple and the Sabres. Willis ran for over 1,600 yards and scored 28 touchdowns, and was named the Class B Western Division Player of the Year. He had a school record-breaking single game oerformance, carrying the football for 352 yards against Glens Falls. Willis scored five touchdowns in each of three games. He was simply an offensive machine.
