Frank Sinatra Christens the Knickerbocker Arena

The Pepsi Arena in Albany was originally called the Knickerbocker Arena.  Frank Sinatra christened the building on January 30, 1990, and it soon became the premier sports and entertainment facility in upstate New York.  It has been home to the Siena College basketball team, the Albany River Rats, the Albany Conquest, and the National Lacrosse League among others.  Other events that the arena has been host to are the NBA Classic, World Championship Boxing, professional tennis, the NCAA Frozen Four Tournament (2001), the MAAC Basketball Tournament, and the FanFest.
