Georgetown’s Alonzo Mourning Testifies

Georgetown’s talented center Alonzo Mourning was a witness in the federal trial of Washington, D.C. drug kingpin Rayful Edmond III and other defendants in 1990.  Edmond was the leader of a drug ring which repeatedly was responsible for more than 25% of the cocaine sold in the nation’s capital.  Mourning was a character witness for Jerry Millington who was described as the enforcer of the drug ring.  Mourning admitted visiting Millington’s home on a number of occasions, but told authorities it was only to view sporting events on the tube with teammate John Turner who was no longer a member of the Hoya team.
