Houston Over the Knicks in ’94

For me, one of the most exciting NBA playoff series was between the Houston Rockets and the New York Knicks in 1994.  The series went seven games.  New York opened the series losing to the Rockets, 85-78.  John Starks was way off for the Knicks, hitting 3 of 18 shots from the field.  He rebounded in game 2, scoring 19 points.  Derek Harper chipped in with 18, and the Knicks won, 93-89.  Sam Cassell hit a three-point shot with 32 seconds left in game three and Houston won. The teams went back to Houston for game six, and the Rockets won.  Game seven was a dandy.  New York was down 86-84 with a few ticks left on the clock, and Starks got the ball on the left side and took a jumper, but Akeem Olajuwon got a hand on the ball, and the shot fell short.  The Houston Rockets were the NBA champs.
