I Saw It With My Own Eyes

When my brother, Pete Meola, was playing basketball for Linton in one of his younger years,  he was waiting to grab a missed free throw by an opposing player.  The shooter missed the free throw, Pete grabbed the rebound and put a shot right back up at the other team’s basket.  On top of it all, an opponent tried to block his shot.  We began referring to Pete as “Wrong Way Corrigan.”  As a senior, he stepped it up a notch, averaging around 17 points per game for a very solid Linton team that won the sectional title against Jim Town-led Glens Falls.
