Jabbar & John Stockton

Schenectady basketball faithful knew him as Lew Alcindor back in 1963, when he and his Power Memorial of New York City teammates came to the Electric City to play the Pat Riley-led Linton High basketball team.  He was a 6’9″ ninth grader then.   Linton won that game.  Alcindor later became known as Kareem Abdul Jabbar, an NBA basketball great.  Jabbar holds the all-time NBA record for most field goal attempts (28,309) and field goals made (15,837).  John Stockton, who teamed with Karl Malone in Utah for many seasons , is the career assist leader with 15,806.  Through October 2012, he also was the NBA career leader in steals with 3,265.
