The Albany High girls’ basketball team is having a great season. Their record through January 21, 2013 was 13-1, and they rate among the best teams in the area. Their star player for most of the season has been the very talented Emia Willingham-Hurst who is among the top scorers in Metroland with a 21.8 points per game average. Willingham-Hurst has been sidelined for several games with an injury, but the Falcons keep rolling along as other players have stepped up and performed admirably. One of those players is Kara Waterson who has scored in double figures the last three games and seems to be Albany’s catalyst. Waterson has scored 23, 19 and 14 points in her last three outings.
