Manhattan Stymies Jerry West & West Virginia

It wasn’t very often that a college basketball team shut down West Virginia All-American Jerry West.  But in 1958, in the first round of the NCAA basketball tournament, Manhattan held West, who was known as “Zeke From Cabin Creek,” to 10 points, as the Jaspers handed the Mountaineers their second loss of the season, 89-84.  Jack Powers led Manhattan with 29 points.
