Charley Finley – The maverick owner of the Kansas City Athletics introduced a mechanical rabbit named Harvey who brought baseballs to the homeplate umpire. Finley also had sheep grazing between the right field fence and the outer wall to keep the grass trim.
Lindsay Nelson – In 1965, Nelson of the Mets, broadcasted the Mets-Asros game from a gondola high above second base at the Houston Astrodome.
Eddie Gaedel – A midget who was used as a pinch-hitter for the St. Louis Browns in 1951. Owner Bill Veeck used Gaedel as a promotional gimmick.
