My Dad Was There for Al Gionfriddo’s Catch of DiMaggio’s Drive

I was just three years -old, but my dad and some of his buddies from Schenectady were in New York for the sixth game of the 1947 World Series.  He got to see the magnificent catch (one of the greatest of all time) made by Brooklyn Dodger outfielder Al Gionfriddo, which robbed Joe DiMaggio of a 415-foot homerun that would have tied-up the game.  Thee Dodgers won that seven game series four games to three. Dad will be turning 100 on December 29, 2012.
