Back in the late 1980s, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame had a football player by the name of Raghib “The Rocket” Ismail. He ran the 40 yard dash in 4.29, and averaged 22 yards per reception to earn that nickname. As a receiver Ismail was very good, and a a rusher he was outstanding. Returning kickoffs, Ismail was one of the most electrifying players in the history of college football. His most amazing performance came against number two ranked Michigan in 1989, when he returned two punts for touchdowns in the Fighting Irish’s 24-19 win. Ismail also returned two punts for scores against Rice in 1988.
