Paul Bricoccoli a Two-Sport Star

June 20,2013Paul Bricocoli of Kingswood was the recent winner of the Eastern New York Golf Association Tournament at Cobleskill Golf & Country Club, shooting a 71.  I grew up with Paul in the Goosehill neighborhood  of Schenectady.  He was an outstanding two-sport athlete, excelling in both baseball and football.  A pitcher with a strong arm, he was one of the better Schenectady Babe Ruth League and high school pitchers in the area from 1959-1962.  He Attended Linton.  A football quarterback, Bricoccoli was a first team All-County selection, and he was scholarshipped by Rhode Island, where he had a solid college career.  He later made his mark as one of Section II’s top football coaches when he guided the Glens Falls High School program.
