Phil Rizzuto to Mel Allen & the Drama of the Homerun

Baseball broadcasters have heir own unique styles when calling the homerun.  How about these:

Phil Rizzuto – “Hit deep to left, way back there, holy cow, it’d outta here.”

Vin Scully – “Forget it.”

Ralph Kiner – “Kiss it goodbye,” as the ball sails over the fence.

Russ Hodges – “Bye, Bye, baby.”

Many broadcasters use “Hit downtown” to describe an HR.  But my favorite was Mel Allen with his southern drawl.  He had the opportunity to call many shots off the bats of New York Yankee sluggers.  “That ball is going, going, it is gone.”
