Philosophical Pitcher Joaquin Andujar

Joaquin Andujar, the philosophical pitcher, once explained how he would pitch to himself.  “I’d throw me a fastball right down the middle of the plate.  What do you think, I’m gonna try to get myself out.”  Talking about why he wore just a T-shirt while pitching in 42-degree weather.  “You can’t worry if it’s hot.  You only worry if you get sick, because then, if you don’t get well, you die.”
