Schenectady’s Rashaun Freeman Hits Winning Bucket for UMass

Former Schenectady High basketball star, Rashaun Freeman, scored the winning bucket with 4.3 seconds left on the clock to give UMass a 61-59 win over heavily favored Connecticut in 2004.  It was the biggest win for the Minutemen since the days of the great Marcus Camby and coach John Calipari in the 1990s.  At that point in the season, the 6’9″, 255-pound Freeman was averaging 15 points and 7 rebounds per game.
