Rollie Massimino’s Giant Killers

Many Capital Region fans were tuned in to the NCAA  college basketball final in 1985.  It was the year that Georgetown, led by the great center Patrick Ewing and coach John Thompson, was the nation’s dominate basketball team.  That night, however, coach Rollie Massimino’s finely-tuned  Villanova Wildcats played a near perfect game and methodically brought down the mighty Hoyas to win the NCAA Title.  ‘Nova put on a clinic with their flawless play and were led by tourney MVP, Eddie Pinckney.
