- In 1965, Roosevelt Phillips was bringing Capital Region basketball fans to their feet with his line drive jumpshots from deep in the corner that caught nothing but net. He and his Troy High teammates finished 20-0 for the regular season and won the Class A championship. The Trojans easily handled Mont Pleasant, Linton, and the other “A” schools that year. It was one of the finest teams ever assembled in the Capital Region. Hubert Terry, Perry Ashley, and Steve and Jerry Guter rounded out the starting five.
