Tom Hitchcock and Ryan Mason were two of the best running backs in the history of Union College football. In the mid-1960s, Hitchcock set two impressive Dutchmen records. One was total offense for a single game, when he amassed 357 yards against Williams College in 1965. The other was total offense for a season, when the talented running back racked up 1,995 yards that same year. Mason rushed for 129 yards against Norwich in the late 1980s to become the first Union player that decade to amass 1,000 yards.
