Schenectady’s Jimmy Barbieri Mowed Down by Baltimore’s Moe Drabowsky

In 1966, Jimmy Barbieri, who grew up on Lenox Road across the street from Steinmetz Park, played in the Major League World Series for the Los Angeles Dodgers.  He was one of six-straight strikeout victims of Baltimore Orioles pitcher Moe Drabowsky.  Those six-straight Ks tied a major league record.  Barbieri was paid an additional $8,000 for playing in that series which Baltimore won.
