Schenectady & Capital Region Fans & the Brooklyn Dodgers vs. New York Yankees Series

Many Schenectady and other Capital Region baseball fans were glued to the TV when Sandy Amoros made a diving catch of a line drive off the bat of New York Yankee catcher Yogi Berra with two men on base in the seventh game of the 1955 World Series.  It preserved a 2-0 lead and Brooklyn won the Series.


Gionfriddo’s catch robs DiMaggio of HR


Brooklyn Dodger outfielder Al Gionfriddo made a magnificent catch, robbing Joe DiMaggio of a 415-foot homerun that would have tied-up the sixth game of the 1947 World Series.  The Dodgers won that seven game series four games to three. Continue reading GREAT CATCHES!
