Many Schenectady and other Capital Region baseball fans were glued to the TV when Sandy Amoros made a diving catch of a line drive off the bat of New York Yankee catcher Yogi Berra with two men on base in the seventh game of the 1955 World Series. It preserved a 2-0 lead and Brooklyn won the Series.
