The Loquacious Tommy Brennan

Tommy Brennan was a loquacious and very animated Capital Region basketball official for many years.  He graduated from Mont Pleasant in 1938, where he played tennis and basketball.  Brennan also played professional soccer.  He was a very solid softball player, and he played in the Welcome Inn Softball League.  Brennan was the first official to officiate four sports at both the high school and collegiate levels.  His officiating career spanned 42 years.  Brennan officiated games that featured such stars as Cazzie Russell, Sid Edwards, Pat Riley, Julius Erving, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.  He is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame which is sponsored by the IAABO.  He was inducted into the Schenectady City School District Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001.
