Earl Campbell was a puunishing running back who didn’t mind running over people. Campbell won the Heisman when he played for the Longhorns of Texas in 1967. As a pro, he was the workhorse of the New Orleans Saints and later the Texas Oilers. Campbell’s pro career spanned eight years. He amassed 1,934 yards in 1980. It was the third highest total of all-time. The strong, powerful and very durable runner played in six Pro Bowls and scored 47 career touchdowns.
