The 2012 version of the Schalmont football team is a true juggernaut. With the exception of a loss to a very talented Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake team which does not play in their league, the Sabres have been running all over their league opponents. In two games alone, they have put a total of 113 points on the board with 62 and 51-point outputs. Schools like Broadalbin-Perth and Cobleskill-Richmondville simply do not provide enough competition. It would be nice if they could play in a higher class, but enrollment dictates otherwise. Devon Willis is their dynamic leader and a very gifted athlete who has scored five or more touchdowns in several games this season. The Sabres are, however, a lot more than than just Willis. They have an array of talented football players on both sides of the football.
