- The Two Ernies – Former Mont Pleasant basketball-baseball standout (late ’50s), Ernie Lotano, roomed with the great Ernie Davis at Syracuse University when they were members of the Orangemen frosh basketball team. Three years later, Davis won the Heisman Award as a runing back for the Orangemen. Number 44 died of leukemia before he had the opportunity to play professionally for the Cleveland Browns. He was only 23 years-old.
The Syracuse Center – Former Draper High School football coach, Doug Ericson, was a pretty solid college lineman. He was beaten out for the starting center position at Sracuse University by future Green Bay Packer great, Jim Ringo.
The Doctor – Al Baskous, a talented wrestler on John Ciabotti’s Niskayuna High School team in the 1960s, attended Harvard and Jefferson Medical College, then became a practicing physician in Anchorage, Alaska.
