There is nothing very humorous about this one, but I found it interesting.
The great Ty Cobb treated his bats with tobacco juice. That’s right! Tobacco Juice. It helped keep the dampness out of the wood. He used a real juicy brand called Nerve Navy-Cut, rubbing his bats for many hours with the hollowed-out thigh of a steer. The bone was still chained to a table in the Detroit clubhouse years after Cobb retired.
