Union’s Billy Carmody Follows Gary Walters

Heady guard Bill Carmody was the floor general for a couple of coach Gary Walters’ Union College basketball teams back in the 1970s.  His cohort in the backcourt was John Denio, who, with his quick hands, was pickin’ the pockets of every opposing guard who dared to bring the ball down the floor.  Years later, Walters was named the athletic director of Princeton, and he hired Carmody as the Tigers’ head coach.  After a successful stint at Princeton, Carmody moved on and later coached Northwestern of the big-ten conference.  He was let go after this past season (2012-2013).
