Brothers Chad and Chuckie Dukes, who played for Colonie in the 1980s, were two of the greatest high school football players ever to perform in this area. Chad went on and played collegiately at Pittsburgh. One of his teammates there was Curtis Martin. Now living in the Capital Region area, Chad owns a private investigation firm in Albany. Brother Chuckie played for Boston College, where he rushed for 200 yards in a game against powerhouse Miami. He then played with the Pittsburgh Steelers for awhile. Last I heard, Chuckie was working at LaSalette in Altamont. I’m not certain that he is still employed there. Dave Gamble, a wide receiver, who played alongside the Dukes brothers on those Colonie teams, went to the University of New Hampshire, and then moved on and played for the Denver Broncos. His teammate was the great John Elway.
